What outdoor light fittings last near the beach?
Marine-grade stainless steel, quality powder-coated aluminium and good composite fittings all hold up far better than standard outdoor fittings. The fixings matter as much as the light itself — cheap screws rust out long before the fitting does.
Why do my outdoor lights keep rusting?
Salt in the air corrodes metal fittings and fixings, and it carries several streets back from the surf. Corrosion-resistant fittings mounted where they're sheltered from the direct sea breeze are the fix.
