What's involved

Sized for the room, installed to last

A split system only works as well as it's sized and installed. Too small and it runs flat out all summer; too big and it switches on and off without ever properly drying the air. We look at the room, the sun it gets and how you use it before recommending anything.

Then it's about the install: a sensible spot for the outdoor unit, a short and tidy pipe run, an isolator at the outdoor unit and conduit that's straight and tight to the wall. It's the part that shows, so we take our time with it.

FAQ

Air Conditioning questions, answered

What size air conditioner do I need?

It depends on the room's size, the sun it gets, ceiling height and insulation — a west-facing living area needs far more capacity than a shaded bedroom. We size each system for the space rather than going off a chart alone.

Where should the outdoor unit go?

Somewhere with good airflow, room to service it and as short a pipe run as practical. Depending on the home that could be a wall bracket, a concrete pad, a rooftop frame or a balcony — we'll talk through the options on site.

Do you service split systems as well as install them?

Yes, we service existing split systems too. Between services, cleaning the indoor unit's filters every few weeks makes a real difference to how well it runs.

Can you install air conditioning in several rooms at once?

Yes. Multi-room installs are common for us — recent jobs include three Rinnai units lined up along one wall and three Midea condensers set up on a roof.

Need a sparky this week?

Tell us what you need and we'll get back to you — or call Jordan direct.
