Electrician in Caloundra West

New homes come with exactly the wiring the builder costed and not a point more. Most of our Caloundra West work is the stuff people add once they've lived in the place a few months.

What builders leave out

Volume builders wire to the plan and the budget. That usually means one outdoor power point, nothing over the island bench, nothing in the garage past a single light, and never quite enough points in the study or the kids' rooms.

None of that is wrong — it's just minimum spec. Adding to it afterwards is straightforward while the home is still new: a modern switchboard, an accessible roof space and cavity walls that take a new point without much fuss.

Builders wire to the contracted plan. Outdoor points, garage power and extra circuits are usually afterthoughts.

Easy to add to

FAQ

Residential Electrical in Caloundra West: common questions

Why does my new home have so few power points?

Because volume builders wire to the contracted plan, which is generally the minimum that suits the layout and the budget. Adding points afterwards is completely normal, and it's easier in a new home than an old one.

Will extra electrical work affect my builder's warranty?

Work done by a licensed electrician on your own home doesn't affect the structural warranty, but it's worth checking your builder's defects-period terms before anything is done during that window. We're happy to talk through the timing.

Do you work in Aura, Baringa and Nirimba?

Yes — Caloundra West and the Aura suburbs are part of our regular area, and we're based just up the road at Aroona.
